Marketing From Farm To Plate

Tom Blacklock graduated Vocational Agriculture in 1980, on the family farm that his dad started in 1961, with mixed grain and cattle. In 2004, it was switched to a straight cattle operation and started beef retail.  He’s been with the Saskatoon Farmer’s Market for 17 years, and now owns the store The Little Market Box 📦 which has been operating for just over a year. Tom raises purebred Angus, with cow families which mostly are descendants from the herd his grandpa established in 1910. Their program revolves around selling bulls into commercial herds. And commercial Speckle Park, to enhance thieir beef program and add a little colour.
