Prairieland Ag Center History

The Prairieland Ag Center began operations in the fall of 2008 and hosted its Grand Opening on July 6, 2009. The reasons for its construction were obvious to Prairieland Park management and its agricultural clients at the time.

Traditionally, livestock events were held in what used to be known as the Wheatland A and Wheatland B buildings. As the number of ag-related events began increasing, it became apparent that the time had come for a dedicated facility to accommodate all the needs of the industry.

The initiative to create a stand-alone ag event center began to take shape around 1998 and took approximately 10 years from conception to completion.
