Established in 2011 under The Agri-Food Act, 2004, SaskMilk operates as a distinguished producer marketing board. Our primary mandate is the formulation and execution of strategic dairy policies and programs designed to enhance the welfare of producers and various stakeholders within the industry.

The SaskMilk Board of Directors, consisting of seven active dairy producers, is elected by licensed dairy producers in the province. Empowered with significant responsibilities, the Board oversees crucial tasks such as the procurement of producer milk, the efficient transportation of milk to licensed processors, compensation structures based on a multi-component pricing system, enforcement of stringent facility and quality standards, and the management of production levels in accordance with national and regional marketing agreements.

SaskMilk has forged a strategic partnership with Dairy Farmers of Canada to promote the manifold benefits of consuming dairy products directly to consumers. Dairy Farmers of Canada, renowned for its focus on promotional activities in milk and other dairy products through print media, online platforms, and television advertising, collaborates seamlessly with SaskMilk to elevate our promotional endeavors.

At the provincial level, SaskMilk maintains a robust presence through diverse initiatives, including advertising campaigns, event promotions, sponsorship programs, and engaging experiential activities. Our commitment extends to the support of the school milk program, further reinforcing our dedication to fostering awareness and consumption of dairy products.

In collaboration with the University of Saskatchewan and various farm commodity organizations, SaskMilk actively contributes to the funding and development of the Rayner Dairy Research and Teaching Facility on the U of S Campus. Our ongoing financial support and participation in an Advisory Board, comprising industry, academic, and government members, reflect our dedication to advancing pertinent research opportunities and fostering innovation in the dairy sector.

SaskMilk collaborates with Dairy Farmers of Canada to promote dairy consumption through various media. At the provincial level, SaskMilk engages in advertising, events, sponsorships, and supports the school milk program to raise awareness and consumption of dairy products.
